Description:
This album is a milestone in the history of Argentina's new generation of folklore/contemporary music, which has produced many masterpieces, and will be remembered as a milestone in the year 2020. This album can be compared to Carlos Aguirre Grupo's works, Luz de Agua's "Poemas de Juan L. Ortiz," and Andres Baeusaert's "Dos Rios," all of which are masterpieces of the 2000s and symbolic of the scene. Singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Rodrigo Carazo, from Córdoba, Argentina's second largest city after Buenos Aires and a historic academic city known for its cultural maturity and progressiveness, released his third album, "Octogonno," his first since 2016's "OIR E IR" and his third in total. Octogono" is the result of his creative and sensual approach to combining the traditional rhythms of riverfront music with the pop compositions of a singer/songwriter and the experimentation of a multi-instrumentalist, which he has cultivated on his two previous albums. The soundscape is three-dimensionally designed with an acoustic and minimalist touch despite the use of a variety of instruments, the vocals are gentle and elongated with delicate nuances, the multi-recorded scat and chorus create a unique shimmering effect, and the arrangement and overall composition of the songs are all done with Carazo's extraordinary sense of style. Carasso's extraordinary sense of style is present in every corner of the album, from the arrangements, which are full of effective effects, to the overall composition of the songs, making this a very special work.
