Voices Of Darkness
Description:
Voices of Darkness, a funk band formed in Douala, Cameroon's largest city, in 1972, moved to Nigeria, replaced their members, and reissued their Afro-funk masterpiece "Voices of Darkness" in the mid-1970s. The sound of the band, consisting of six members, each from Cameroon and Nigeria, is black, thick, and funky, with just the right amount of European flavor. The tight drums, moderately coarse guitar sound, and the jazzy essence of the two-wind instrumentation combine to create an outstanding performance. The opening song "We Gonna Make It," led by light percussion, is a cool and masculine vocal funk song, but the guitar phrase at the beginning and the devilish break that pops up after the middle of the song are too much, and the dynamic horns and wow guitar intertwine with each other. The highlight of the album is "Mota Zinha," a funk tune with dynamic horns and wow guitar. It's just so cool! VIVID
