Description:
Long-awaited reissue of the Afro-Latin masterpiece "Wganda Kenya," originally released in 1976 on the renowned Colombian label Discos Fuentes! This is a long-awaited reissue of a Colombian Afro-Latin masterpiece that is as good as any African Afro-Latin work influenced by Cuban music! The genesis of this album was a marketable idea on the part of Discos Fuentes to inject exoticism into the label by mixing African and Caribbean sounds. To create a sense of exoticism and foreignness, the vocalists often sang in a coined language similar to indigenous Colombian, Haitian Creole, Dutch Caribbean Papiamento, or Nigerian Yoruba, and at other times they imitated the original foreign language lyrics and created Spanish lyrics, often sang humorously, he said. Nevertheless, the members are led by the Colombian salsa king of South America, Fluco, and the band is made up of the best of Discos Fuentes, and the passion and skill of their playing is, of course, impeccable and wonderful. The reissue will also include two songs from the same period that appeared on singles and compilations but were not included on the album, will include liner notes, and will be pressed in 180g and reissued in a format that could not be better.
