This is a completely new version of "Depression" released in 1987, remixed by David Gilmour from the original master tape. In addition, the keyboards have been replaced with those played by Richard Wright on some of the songs that were played by session musicians, and the drums have been newly replayed by Nick Mason in this up-dated version. The drums and keyboards are more prominent, and the electric sound characteristic of the 1980s that was felt when the album was first released has been swept away, leaving behind a deep space that is the essence of Pink Floyd. Depression" is the thirteenth Pink Floyd album, and the first album by the new Pink Floyd released after the departure of Roger Waters. The chart action of "Depression" has been strong in the U.S. and Europe. Depression" charted at #3 in the US and #3 in the UK.The artwork was done by Storm Torgerson of Hypnosis, and the front cover was shot on the beach at Thornton Sands, Devonshire, England, with over 800 beds actually laid out on the beach.
