Gene Clark, a founding member of The Byrds, released a solo album "No Other" in 1974, which has been reissued by 4AD. The album, which featured Jesse Ed Davis, Batch Trucks (Allman Brothers Band), and Chris Hillman (The Byrds, Flying Burrito Brothers), was a sound that incorporated elements of psychedelic rock, folk, country, and even soul. It was warmly received by critics at the time, but failed to sell commercially. However, in 2014, 40 years after its release, the NewYorkTimes wrote: "'No Other' shines in hindsight. The album has been praised as "the album that re-created Big Star's 'Third/Sister Lovers' and Lou Reed's 'Berlin' in the rock repertoire," and has been reevaluated by current artists such as Beach House and Fleet Foxes, who have recognized it as a masterpiece of its time. The album is now widely recognized as a masterpiece of its time.
