Description:

A graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Music, she made her debut in 2003 as Figaro in "The Marriage of Figaro" at the San Francisco Opera. She won the highest prize at the 22nd Japan Classical Music Competition and other top prizes at various competitions. After returning to Japan from the U.S., Teppei Kono has been very active in the opera world. In the spring of 2022, he was chosen to perform the title role in "The Wandering Dutchman" at the New National Theatre, Tokyo, to great acclaim. In this live performance, he performed a repertoire of British and American songs and famous operatic arias, centering on Duparc, which he has a deep attachment to. For the encore, he closes the album brilliantly with a rendition of Sinatra's hit song to thunderous applause. (C)RS
