The Kills
Description:
The Kills, the coolest rock duo ever, featuring Alison Mosshart, who also plays in The Dead Weather, and guitarist Jamie Hince, are back with their new album "Ash and Ice", their fifth album in five years, since their fourth album "Blood Pressure" in 2011. Comeback! This year marks their 16th year of activity, and they have consistently released four full-length albums. It took five years for them to fully recover due to Jamie's hand trouble, but their sound is as good as before, if not better! All of their previous albums were written and recorded at a studio in Michigan, but this time they rented a house in LA and recorded at Electric Lady Studios in NYC. The album was produced by Jamie Hince and John O'Mahoney (The Cribs, Metric) and mixed by Grammy-winning producers Tom Elmhurst (Adele, Beck, Amy Winehouse) and Chad Blake (Arctic Monkeys, Black Keys). A gorgeous lineup was assembled.Jamie began the pre-writing stage of sketches while rehabilitating his hand, and he went on the Trans-Siberian Railroad alone to make it into a thing. Five years later, they have completed an album that is more austere, poised, and moving than ever, a cool, grown-up version of themselves. The album is a cool, mature, more relaxed, and inspiring album.
