Cooler air is drawn into the firebox from the outside, which then efficiently pushes the hot air inside the box out through the venting. Indoor air is pulled in and circulated around the outside of the box that is heated by the fire and moved into the room for cozy heat. One of the best parts about a Direct Vent Gas Fireplace is that they do not require electricity to operate. Instead batteries or a self-sufficient control can light the fireplace in the event of a power outage, ensuring light and warmth.
