We started using Domestique when we wanted the performance of hot wax without the full pot-and-strip routine. It goes on like a drip lube but dries to a hard, clean wax coating that holds up across long miles and mixed conditions. The chain stays quiet, friction stays low and drivetrain gunk is basically a nonissue.

It’s the same base formula as Rex’s premium hot wax—just in a liquid state—so it works well as a standalone or as a top-up for bikes already running a waxed setup. We’ve used it on road, gravel and even sloppy Marin fire roads, and it’s stayed consistent without building up or attracting grit.

For us, this is the no-brainer chain treatment. Low mess, low cost, high efficiency. It’s what we run when we want wax benefits with zero ceremony.
