Join us in another exciting virtual tasting. This time, we have managed to get the fine folks from Blackadder, all the way from Stockholm to join us! Blackadder has been around for decades, even before people heard of the term 'independent bottler'. Sharing the good stuff before whisky even became popular.

Blackadder International was established in 1995 by Robin Tucek, and was named after the historic Scottish figure, Bishop John Blackadder. Robin was originally a magazine journalist, writing about television, sport and music. He is also definitely the only whisky bottler that has been driven around London in Rod Stewart's car, by Rod Stewart; or to have met ABBA! After entertainment, Robin moved on to drinks publication - joining Drinks International. After that, he moved into drinks PR and started his own company. Robin also founded the Master of Malt and Malt Whisky Association in 1988. And finally in 1995, he left Master of Malt to set up Blackadder International.

Blackadder has a few labels in their range, but the most popular one is probably their Raw Cask series, where the lack of filtration leaves cask sediments at the bottom of each bottle. Other labels include Smoking Islay, Peat Reek, The Old Man of Hoy, Blairfindy, Black Snake and Red Snake. One thing that is consistent throughout all the labels is "The Cask is King!". These days, Robin is joined by his son, Michael Tucek and daughter, Hannah Tucek. Both Michael and Hannah grew up with whisky around them all the time, so it was only natural that they would end up joining the family business. All three of them should be joining us for this tasting. Anyone that has met Robin before will know that Robin never takes himself too seriously, and that we are in for an entertaining whisky evening!
