Born in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, Hossen moved to Vienna, Austria in 1991, and became an Austrian citizen in 1996. Mario Hossen studied violin with Michael Fritschschlager at the Vienna State University of Music and with Gerard Poullet in Paris, and is related to the lineage of two masters, Yehudi Menuhin and Henryk Schelling. Mario Hossen is internationally acclaimed as a specialist in Paganini, and boasts a wide repertoire of works, including not only well-known works, but also works that have never been published and world premiere recordings. Mario Hossen, who has focused on Paganini in terms of recordings, confronts the great Bach's "Violin Sonatas" in full force.Watch for the collaboration of Hossen's musicality with a 1749 Guadagnini violin on loan from the Austrian National Bank.
