Why this kit matters

The Messerschmitt Bf 109F series marked a major aerodynamic refinement of the famous German fighter. The F-4 variant introduced a more powerful Daimler-Benz DB 601E engine, improved handling and revised armament centred around a 20 mm cannon firing through the propeller hub. Many Luftwaffe pilots considered the Friedrich series the best balanced version of the Bf 109 family.

The R6 field conversion added underwing cannon pods to increase firepower against bombers and heavily defended targets. This made the aircraft more versatile during operations on several fronts, including the Eastern Front and Mediterranean theatre.
