I painted this in 2003 while visiting Petra in Jordan. The name of this particular building is called El Khazneh or "the Treasury". The building is carved out of sandstone rock. It is believed to have been the mausoleum of the Nabatean King Aretas IV.
The original painting is an acrylic on canvas board painting with found objects from my trip affixed to the right and left borders.
