Glyder 81 - Featuring a new solid piece profile!

A robust, British-made combination square built to last. Choose your own rulers thanks to the unique push-hold mechanism. We've further refined the design following on from the original Glyder 82.

Re-engineered for the modern craftsman.
After over a century of tradition, we’ve flipped the engineering to create a robust, British-made tool built to last. Unlike fragile pull-hook squares, the Glyder range features a spring-loaded push-hold mechanism (patent pending) that securely holds the ruler in place and can be locked with the integrated stainless steel thumb screw.

Compatible with any 17–27.5 mm wide rule, we recommend high-quality options like the Mitutoyo dual-scale 6" or 12" rulers (sold separately).

The CNC-machined T6 aluminum body and face insert are crafted to ultra-tight tolerances. Weighing just 170g, the Glyder 81 is both lightweight and durable, with easy access to wear strips for quick calibration—no more time-consuming adjustments.

Beyond standard 90° and 45° angles, it also offers 67.5° (22.5°) for added versatility. Ergonomic knurled grips on both sides enhance control.

Two adjustable spring-loaded bearings ensure the ruler is perfectly aligned for super-precise measurements, with dedicated models for right- and left-handed users.

Finished in a protective anodised coating (available in various colour combinations) and featuring a built-in bubble level, the Glyder 81 is precision and practicality refined.
