Haydn (1732-1809)
Description:
Haydn's "The Creation" is a masterpiece oratorio from Haydn's mature period, composed from the script of "Genesis" and "Psalms" of the Old Testament and "Paradise Lost" by Milton. The orchestral music, solo, double, and triple voices, and chorus are all combined to create a beautiful and solemn account of God's creation of the world, from the creation of the heavens and the earth to the appearance of various creatures and man, Adam and Eve, with praise and gratitude to God. This recording is a work of music by Zubin Mehta. This recording was made in November 2020 in the midst of the Corona Disaster to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Zubin Mehta's debut at the Florence May Festival. The Florence May Festival Orchestra & Chorus, led by the matured Zubin Mehta, presents a magnificent musical picture scroll with the outstanding solo singers Hannah-Elisabeth Müller, Maximilian Schmidt, Michael Follé, and Wieta Pilipenko.
