Why this kit matters

The IJN Shimakaze was one of the most advanced destroyers built by the Imperial Japanese Navy during the Second World War. Designed as an experimental high-speed destroyer, Shimakaze was powered by an advanced propulsion system that allowed speeds exceeding 39 knots.
