Universal Fitment Criteria

These risers will fit your motorcycle if it meets these core specifications:

Riser Mounting Spacing: The mounting holes on the triple tree must be spaced 3.5 inches (3-1/2" or 88.9mm) on-center. This is the standard for most Harley-Davidson big twins and XL models since the late 1960s.

Handlebar Compatibility: The risers are built specifically to clamp 1-inch diameter handlebars. They will not fit 1-1/4" or 1.5" bars.

Mounting Hardware: The base of the risers is threaded (tapped) for standard 1/2"-13 t.p.i. mounting bolts.

Common Compatible Applications

The Murdock risers are commonly installed on the following types of motorcycles:

Harley-Davidson:

Dyna: Most models (e.g., FXD, FXDB, FXDX).

Sportster: Most XL models (e.g., Iron 883, Forty-Eight).

Softail: Various models (e.g., Street Bob FXBB/FXBBS).

Important Installation Notes

Cables/Wiring: The 6-inch rise combined with the pullback typically requires longer control cables, brake lines, and electrical wiring than stock components on most bikes.

Top Clamp: The one-piece top clamp design is compatible with many stock Harley-Davidson speedo/tach brackets.
