What it does: Staplegrip splices use a hinge pin threaded through the fastener loops to complete the splice. Belt tension and conveyor misalignment can cause the pin to migrate sideways outside the fastener loops. The retaining washer swages onto the end of the pin, blocking migration.

How to install: After threading the hinge pin through the fastener loops, place a retaining washer over each end of the pin. Compress the washer onto the pin with pliers or a swaging tool. The washer locks the pin in position permanently.

When to use: Recommended for any Staplegrip installation where splice longevity matters. Especially valuable in: belts with extreme alignment changes, belts running close to pulley edges, conveyors with frequent reversing direction, and long-haul belts where pin migration would not be noticed promptly.
