Only about two months shy of his 30th birthday, trumpeter Lee Morgan recorded this in May 1968, his 23rd release for Blue Note! Morgan was a full-fledged master whose technical prowess and emotional depth on the horn were equaled only by his ability to create a variety of moods and styles as a composer.
