Kobe College, with its tradition and history, established Wind Orchestra (brass band) as a class subject in the School of Music from the 2019 academic year. Its main feature is a rehearsal style in which students study works and create music under the multifaceted guidance of a conductor, composer, and performer. Students hone their sensibilities in the school building (an important cultural property) designed by Dr. Vories. In addition to the new Hal Leonard Europe score played with their pure musicality, you can fully enjoy the outstanding solos of the lecturers in this first album. The Wind Orchestra of Kobe College School of Music was established as a class subject of the School of Music in the 2019 academic year, and is composed of wind and percussion majors as well as students from other faculties, lecturers, and performance researchers selected through auditions. Its main feature is a rehearsal style in which students study works and create music under the multifaceted guidance of conductors, composers, and performers.In addition to its biannual concerts, the orchestra also actively engages in community-based activities, such as holding workshops for junior high and high school students. The new works of leading European composers such as Philippe Spark and Thomas Doss will be premiered in Japan and recorded as CDs for the first time in the world. Students and instructors are working together to introduce a new repertoire of wind band music from the university to the world.
