Description:
A collection of Studio Ghibli works performed by a steelpan ensemble with a pleasant, laid-back sound! Steelpan is a musical instrument born in Trinidad and Tobago. The beautiful sound of steelpan is the most relaxing sound. This album is performed by members of hsb (Hirosaki University Steelpan Club), which was formed in 2003 as Japan's first university steelpan circle and released two albums (Satie & Bach and The Beatles) from Victor in 2006, and "Okinawan Music on Steelpan" in 2008. All of the arrangements are also done by hsb members. Each piece is arranged in a different style, ranging from a relaxing ballad to a stylish jazz style. In addition to the main steel pans (including six steel pans in "My Neighbor Totoro," a total of seven different steel pans are used from low to high notes, with different arrangements for each song), keyboard harmonica, recorder, and glass harp add wonderful color to the ensemble. For this re-release, master musician Sanichi Tanaka has re-mastered the album for even better sound quality. The depth and wonderful sound of the steelpan is a must-hear. In addition, previously unreleased bonus tracks have been added to the album. Please enjoy Studio Ghibli's masterpieces played over a relaxing and resonant sound.
