Description:
For the release of this album, it was truly a daunting task, according to producer Andy Sachs, to collect, organize, and rearrange the 60+ multi-track tapes recorded by Eddie Kramer and Lee Osborne, and the 100+ soundboard tapes recorded by the stage crews, into "order of events". Producer Andy Sachs says it was truly a daunting task to collect, organize, and rearrange the more than 100 soundboard tapes recorded by the stage crew into "order of events. He, sound producer Brian Keffew, and mastering engineer Dave Schultz tried to keep the "authenticity" of the original tapes intact. In some places, however, the latest technology was used to bring back to life material that would have been unrecoverable a few years ago. The "audio documentary" feel of the film is enhanced by John Morris, stage manager, and Chip Monk, lighting director, who served as emcees for the festival. Incidentally, the festival did not hire an emcee, and the two were chosen by lottery. It is a valuable record that tells what was happening at the festival, from the various precautions at the venue, to the call-outs, and even the conversations with the artists. This is a historical record that captures the great songs and performances by the superb artists who appeared at the "Woodstock Festival," which caused a shocking sensation and heralded the arrival of a new "rock era" to come, along with the atmosphere of the event. 50TH ANNIVERSARY COLLECTION (5LP)".
