Description:
The Folk Crusaders released "Imujing River" before their major label debut in 1967, and the song was cancelled on February 20, 1968, the day before its major label release. The song has influenced many artists and is still sung to this day. In 2022, 55 years after its release, the conflict between Russia and Ukraine may remind us of the world situation in the 1960s. In addition to the four versions of "Imujing River" previously released by The Folk Crusaders, including the original 1968 version, this album will feature a new version of "Imujing River," featuring Osamu Kitayama of The Folk Crusaders and Takeshi Matsuyama, the songwriter of "Imujing River," along with Iruka, Takaya Kawasaki, Kumiko, Konosuke Sakazaki This is a compilation of the latest recorded versions of "Imujing River," including lyrics by Osamu Kitayama of The Folk Crusaders and Takeru Matsuyama, who wrote the lyrics to "Imujing River," as well as lyrics by Iruka, Takaya Kawasaki, Kumiko, Sakazaki, Konosuke (THE ALFEE), Michiko Shimizu, Jiro Sugita, Kosetsu Minami, Yoshiko Moriyama and Masahiko Kaminanagi (Nippon Broadcasting System personality). We hope that the message from Osamu Kitayama, the initiator of this project, about the new recording of "Imujing River," as well as the message of "music transcends national borders," which has been sung by many singers and musicians, will be felt once again.
