The addition of modular synths to bring in a larger electronic element, and the acoustic expression of the sound, like the other instruments, moves like liquid, building a warmer, more touchable approach. For this album, the band worked with a number of great musicians, including Andrew Barr of the Barr Brothers on drums."Height of the Feeling" is about using intimacy as a compass when you are feeling under the skin. I sometimes worry that I don't have the love and affection to sustain me. I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing, but it just is. I was lucky enough to co-write with Ariel Engle of La Force. She is such a pleasure to work with. We improvised a lot of takes on one mic and laughed together the whole time. Patrick Watson
