Description:
This is amazing! The first official INA release of Boulez's "The Rite of Spring" (1989) and "Mahler's Adagio" (1995)! The Rite of Spring" (1989) and "Mahler's Adagio" (1995)! The coupling "Till" (1979) by Karajan and Berlin Philharmonic is also remarkable! This is amazing! Boulez's "The Rite of Spring" with the Orchestre National de France in 1989! According to Naoya Hirabayashi, who wrote the Japanese commentary, "The individual parts are really clear and brilliant, and the overall sound is dense," and the spirited performance in stereo is very promising. The Adagio by Mahler, performed in 1995 by a joint orchestra of the Orchestre de Paris and the Orchestre de la Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, is one of the most beautiful performances of all time. Boulez's baton is so beautifully divine that it is hard to believe that it is out of this world. The bonus track on this album is "Till Eulenspiegel's Delightful Mischief" performed by Karajan with the Berlin Philharmonic on June 23, 1979. This performance was made for a radio broadcast on Radio France, and Karajan played only this piece on the same day, with the rest of the orchestra members' chamber music (details are given in Naoya Hirabayashi's commentary). You can fully enjoy the sound of the Berliner Philharmoniker of the Karajan era. Includes Japanese commentary by Naoya Hirabayashi.
