Dear Mbamba,
When I walk these village paths alone, I feel our ancestors following along, watching over me. It’s a bittersweet feeling, of love, loss, & comfort. I feel whole and at home but with the thought: nothing is permanent. Not only are the ancestors here, but so are our own ghosts, leaving our love & memories scattered around. I saw you sitting in a chair, talking with your friends. Saw him walking up the path. Heard her voice talking.
Alone, but never alone.
I love you forever, and miss you every day.
