Ian Quinn is a Welsh organist, choral conductor, and composer who has served as organist and director of music at St. John's Cathedral in New Mexico, USA, and has taught music at numerous universities and churches in the U.K. and U.S. Chandos has released unique collections of organ works on various themes, including "Russia," "America," and "Northern Europe. This is the first new Haydn organ concerto recording in many years, and the accompaniment is by a fine young Englishman. Accompaniment is provided by the up-and-coming period ensemble "Arcangelo," formed in 2010 by the outstanding young British cellist and conductor Jonathan Cohen. In No. 6, a double concerto for violin and organ, Arcangelo will be accompanied by the virtuoso Sophie Gent, who has played in many period ensembles including La Petite Band, Retrospect Trio, Il Gardelino, and the string quartet Mito dell'Arco, all of which are exclusive members of Art Tower Mito.
