Description:
[Encore Press: The Art of Arthur Grumiaux] Grumiaux and Haskil first met in 1950 when they performed Beethoven's Sonata No. 10 together at the Casals Festival in Prado. Haskil, who had given violin recitals as a child, and Grumiaux, who was proficient on the piano, are said to have enjoyed switching instruments with each other between Beethoven recordings. The warm sound of this intimate recording reflects the happy unity of these two performers. [Performed by] Arthur Grumiaux (violin), Clara Haskil (piano)
