The complete Norma, Maria Callas's eighteenth act, recorded in 1960, is now available in limited quantities on 180g analog LP using 24bit/96k remastered sound by Abbey Road Studios in 2014-2015Maria Callas's hit Norma has been performed 89 times (some of them live, and two studio recordings made in 1954 and 1960). some of them live recordings, two studio recordings made in 1954 and 1960). Callas' first appearances began in November-December 1948 at the Teatro Municipal in Florence, followed in June 1949 at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, both under the direction of Tullio Serafin. The following year she appeared at La Fenice Theater in Venice in January 1950, this time under Antonino Votto; in London in 1952, Callas sang Norma at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden in November (one of the smaller roles was played by Joan Sutherland played the role). She made her U.S. debut in November 1954 singing that role under Nicola Lessigno at the Lyric Opera of Chicago. She then appeared at the Metropolitan Opera in New York in October-November 1956 under Fausto Creva.
