Kelly Brothers
Description:
Long-awaited CD release for Southern Soul fans, including the world's first reissue on CD of two important LPs from the early 1960s. The Kelly Brothers remain a strong favorite among Southern Soul fans. The group from Mississippi was started by three brothers, Andruw, Curtis & Robert Kelly. They were a close-knit group of brothers who started singing in church, a common story. Many people in Japan must have been struck by their works, especially in the mid to late 60s. They were highly acclaimed on the Exelo label and Sims label. However, their two most important albums before 1965 were not released on CD, and their fans were frustrated: one was a gospel-soul album released on KING 810 in 1962, and the other was a more pop album (KING 865) released the following year in 1963, with a strong R&B flavor. The other was a more pop album (KING 865) with a stronger R&B flavor the following year in 1963. 865, made as The King Pins (an alias), was a smash hit that would change the fate of the group for the rest of its life. This CD is a 2-in-1 of those two albums.
