This is a live recording of the violin virtuoso Machiko Shimada, who has a spectacular career, performing with the string members of the Central Aichi Symphony Orchestra, of which she is the conductor. The strings are 3-3-2-2-1 (plus harpsichord). The four seasons" with a clean and airy composition shines with light and youthful solos. It is a beautiful performance that is pleasing to the ear, with a dashing sense of speed, but without losing its freshness. The superb technique in "Zigoinelwaizen" was also a pleasure to listen to. Following the well-received Bach unaccompanied works on her first album (ALT-318), this is a remarkable album filled with her charms. <Machiko Shimada graduated from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music in 1998 at the top of her class and was awarded the Ataka Prize, and in 2002 graduated from the Detmold University of Music with the highest honors.She won first prize in the junior high school division of the 44th All Japan Student Music Competition, first prize in the 7th Japan Mozart Music Competition, second prize in the 66th Japan Music Competition, and prizes in the 45th Paganini International Violin Competition and the 15th J.S. Bach International Competition. She has participated in the Aspen Music Festival in the U.S., the Miyazaki International Chamber Music Festival, and the Kurashiki Music Festival, etc. She has participated in the Saito Kinen Festival Matsumoto every year from 1998 to 2015, and appeared as soloist in the festival's Bach program in 2001 and 2002, for which a CD recording was released. In 2000, she gave her first solo recitals at Tokyo Bunka Kaikan and Shirakawa Hall, and since 2001, she has participated as soloist in the East West Baroque Academy's performances in Japan and the Netherlands, including a tour of the Concertgebouw Hall in the Netherlands, as well as in the chamber music series at the Konzerthaus Berlin and recitals in Germany and Belgium. After returning to Japan from Germany in 2005, she has been giving recitals as a soloist in Japan and performing with the Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra, Central Aichi Symphony Orchestra, and others in subscription concerts.In 2006, she received the Aichi Prefecture Arts and Culture Award for her activities in her home prefecture of Aichi, including planning and performing in chamber music concerts organized by Nagoya Shirakawa Hall, and in the same year she received the first Nagoya Music Pen Club Award. In 2016, he held a concert of all six of Bach's unaccompanied works to commemorate the release of the CD, which received rave reviews. In recent years, she has been active as a member of the Saito Kinen Orchestra and the Veritas String Quartet, as well as participating in chamber music performances throughout Japan, etc. As of 2017, she is the solo concertmaster of the Central Aichi Symphony Orchestra and a member of the Mito Chamber Orchestra. He has studied with Haruru Sasaki, Ryosaku Kubota, Kosaku Yamaoka, Chikashi Tanaka, and Marco Ricci, and chamber music with Isaac Stern and Nobuko Imai, as well as with Hermann Krebers, Dorothy Delay, Rainer Kussmaul, Masazumi Tonomura, and others, all of whom have influenced his work. 2017 Currently on loan from the NPO Yellow Angel, a violin made by G.B.
