Description:
Long-awaited by SSW fans! The second independently released album by Bob Hughes, a singer/songwriter born in Cambridge, central England, UK, is finally available on CD (original release: 1978). Like the first, this second was released on his own label. The music is very personal, with friendly melodies and the organic sound of a mellow acoustic guitar, similar to Love No Nokes or Scotland's Dougie McLean, and has the warmth of a home-like atmosphere. The band's folk-rock sound on the new album further emphasizes Hughes' pop qualities as a songwriter. It sounds like one of the songs from the Steve Miller Band's "Fly Like an Eagle" (1976) [3]. It seems to be played by Lindisfarne or someone like that [6]. The song [8] and the melody line [12] are especially excellent, with a sweet and sour song and melody line reminiscent of Jeff Lynne in the "Face the Music" era.Hughes (6 & 12 string guitar, lead vocals), John Kaliski (lead guitar, bass), Alan Buxton (lead guitar, bass), Gary Moore (drums), Adrian Nash (keyboards, vocals), Ron Turner (lead guitar) Participating.
