Description:
Johann Kaspar Merz (1806-1856) was a composer and guitarist of the Austro-Hungarian Empire who flourished in Vienna, where Anton Diabelli, Mauro Giuliani, Wenceslaus Matica, and Simon Molitor were active. Although he was on the verge of death due to an overdose of a remedy for neuralgia, and was involved in the Vienna uprising and the Hungarian Revolution in his later years, and was forced to live a hard life, he has left his name to posterity as a leading figure who made the most of the 10-string guitar and greatly advanced the expressive power of the guitar. Alessandro Deiana is an Italian guitarist who studied at the Luigi Canepa Conservatory in Sassari, Italy, and the Ecole Normale in Paris, France. He has won prizes and awards at various competitions, including the Emilio Pujol International, Fernando Sor International, and Maria Luisa Anido International. Tokyo M-Plus
