Ballet & Dances Classical
Description:
A trilogy based on the three novels "Mrs. Dalloway," "Orlando," and "The Wave" by Virginia Woolf (1882-1941), one of the most famous British women writers. The music is beautifully composed by Max Richter, a post-classical standard-bearer known for "Sleep" and other works. Narrated by American actress Gillian Anderson, best known for her role as Dana Scully in "The X-Files." In addition, Alessandra Ferri, who has retired from the forefront, makes a guest appearance, as well as other famous dancers such as Stephen McCrae, Natalia Osipova, and Akane Takada, and the increasingly popular Ruka Akuri, who makes an unsparing appearance. The premiere is in 2015. It is the first full-length work by permanent choreographer Wayne McGregor, and while it incorporates many avant-garde elements, it is a stage piece with a charm that captures and holds the audience, with poses that challenge the limits of human physical capabilities and large ensemble movements that are counterpoint-like and full of dynamism. It is also interesting to note that the bonus video includes a reading by Maggie Smith, the famous British actress known for her roles in the "Harry Potter" series and "Love Song to an Angel....
