About Katliax

Katliax is a handcrafted artisan brand. The name "Katliax" is derived from the Miao language. The pronunciation \kali:a\ is a transliteration of the Miao word meaning magpie.

With the design concept of "wearing is inheritance", "Katliax" starts from traditional culture and ethnic languages, studies the feasibility of local clothing design, practices the design concept of "making the most of things and cherishing and recreating things", recycles leftover fabrics in the production process, explores the value of leftover materials, and explores sustainable design methods.

This patchwork jacket features a classic men's jacket design, suitable for both men and women. The collar's windproof button can be opened to create a turn-down collar or stood up for wind protection. The overall patchwork design is inspired by the Yi ethnic group's solemn headdress, with the patchwork pattern arranged in a staggered, windmill-like pattern. Each group consists of eight triangular pieces hand-stitched together. In the Yi ethnic group, triangles symbolize dragon scales. This patchwork style, combined with the practical jacket design, expresses a continuation of ethnic traditions, respect for meticulous handcraftsmanship, and a commitment to the reuse of precious materials.
