Her new recording is a collection of Biber's violin sonatas! Spanish baroque violinist Lina Tur Bonet, who is regarded as one of the most exciting violinists of her generation, and the baroque ensemble she founded, Musica Alchemica, have moved to Glossa, one of Spain's leading ancient music labels! The first release on Glossa is a collection of violin sonatas by Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber (1644-1744), a 17th century Austrian violin virtuoso who also served as music director at the Salzburg court. Lina Tour Bonnet selected four of the eight violin sonatas published in Nuremberg in 1681, and a partita for two violas d'amore from the "Harmonia artificioso-ariosa" (Harmony of skill and pleasure) published in 1696 ( Partita for two viola d'amore ("Partia") from "Harmonia artificioso-ariosa".
