Antique Victorian CDV Photo Lot Framed Military Band Uniform Brass Instrument 1800s

DESCRIPTION:

A wonderful piece of Victorian history — two original Carte de Visite (CDV) photographs professionally matted and displayed together in an ornate gold carved wood frame.

The photographs date to approximately the 1860s–1890s and feature:

• TOP PHOTO: A man dressed in a military or band uniform, proudly holding a brass instrument (tuba/euphonium). Military and musician CDVs are highly collectible.

• BOTTOM PHOTO: A Victorian woman in period dress, seated, holding a decorative hat — a classic studio portrait of the era.

Frame Details:

• Ornate carved wood frame with gold finish

• Dark matting with white inner mat

• Glass front

CDV photographs were popularized in the 1860s and were collected in albums much like trading cards. Finding two framed and matted together in this condition is increasingly rare.
