The Afterburner Individual First Aid Kit (IFAK) Pouch is a two-piece system designed to provide simple and rapid access to medical supplies. Originally built around the needs of a unit, the Afterburner was designed with the following requirements:

• Optimized for wear on plate bags, belts, and chest rigs with ambidextrous retrieval
• Compact and space efficient when worn with other kit
• Full and secure contact with plate bag closure Velcro
• Adjustable retention without creating a snag hazard
• A versatile insert that works in both the matching sleeve and other pouches
• A self supporting insert that securely holds the medical supplies during rapid retrieval

Sleeve - This holds the internal medical insert/organizer. The openings are adjusted with shock-cord, which can be stowed along the opening to prevent the cord from becoming a snag hazard. The outer surface has four elastic loops for mounting TQs or other small quick-access items

The sleeve attaches with a 7"x4" Velcro field. This field allows the pouch to be placed under plate bags, chest rigs, and on belts. The section has a dividing stitch so that the Velcro can be cut down if a user prefers a smaller 7"x2" section.

Insert - The insert is the carrier and organizer of medical supplies. When pulled from the pouch, it can be split open for access to the held supplies.

While primarily designed for use in the matching outer sleeve, this insert is extremely versatile. It's self supporting and works well in standard double M4/AR pouches, 200rd SAW pouches, GP pouches, and bags.
