Priorat is a fascinating wine region, which has undergone a huge transformation in the last 30 years. Famed for its steep, high-altitude vineyards, and rocky ‘Licorella’ soils, The wines combine powerful fruit characters and an elegant rusticity, quite unlike any other reigon in the world.

This is the entry bottling from a star of the region, Mas Martinet. A blend of Syrah, Carignan, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, from two vineyards which are co-fermented. Best given an hour or so after opening to allow the flavours to settle, revealing a soft, silky red with hints of blackberry and licorice. At 14.5% ABV, this is not a small wine, and drinking alongside a meal, or even some cheese & meats, goes a long way to balance the power of it.
