As ADA compliance becomes a universal standard in more and more jurisdictions, it's important to make sure smoke and CO detectors are updated to the latest regulations. The SLED177 is an LED strobe that connects to First Alert or BRK smoke/co detectors to add visual alerts.

The SLED177A from BRK features a 177 candela LED strobe and flashes at a rate of an average of 60 times a minute. This strobe is 120VAC hardwired and has an interconnect wire that allows it to be triggered by BRK or First Alert wired smoke and CO detectors. Up to 18 units can be connected in total, 12 being smoke alarms.

About half the size of most standard strobe alarms, it can blend seamlessly into a room's décor, mounted on either a ceiling or wall. Different flash patterns are used to identify whether the strobe is being used to communicate a signal from a smoke alarm or a CO detector and or a CO/Smoke combo.

The strobe meets ADA, ANSI 117.1, NFPA 72 AND UL 1971 requirements to provide a visual signal for deaf and hard of hearing individuals in residential homes, hospitals, motels, dormitories or multifamily dwellings.
