The Odeon recordings of one-and-only guitarist Oscar Alemán come to life! Oskar Alemán, who seems to be a connoisseur guitarist, plays gypsy-like techniques, Brazilian choro, and some Latin-inspired stuff. In a sense, he is a semi-proficient guitarist, but his playing seems to be lacking in moderation. I don't think he is often mentioned in the category of jazz guitar or manouche swing. This Japan-only compilation contains a number of Odeon recordings made after his return to Argentina. Many of them are covers of jazz standards, and they seem to be direct imports of the swing music they experienced in France, but there is more to them than that.
