Description:
Since her solo debut in 2004, Danish-born recorder player Borette Roz has given numerous concerts at home and abroad, won prestigious Danish music awards, and was selected as "Artist in Residence" by the Danish National Radio shortly after her debut. Her debut album with ONDINE is a collection of J.S. Bach's works arranged by France Brugghen (1934-2014). Although Bach preferred to use the flute in his chamber and vocal music, he left no works for unaccompanied flute other than "Partita for Unaccompanied Flute in A minor, BWV 1013," and only a few of his chamber works, including pseudo works, also feature the flute. Moreover, he wrote few works for recorder like other composers of the time, such as Vivaldi and Telemann. Is there any way for recorder players to perform Bach? For this purpose, it is necessary to arrange works written for other instruments.Brüchen, a 20th century virtuoso, selected the first three pieces from the "Suite for Unaccompanied Cello" and 11 movements from the Sonata and Partita for Solo Violin and arranged them for the recorder. By changing recorders for different pieces in "Sonata and Partita for Solo Violin" and changing the tonality in "Suite for Solo Cello", Roz plays all the pieces perfectly, paying close attention to tone and resonance.
