Description:
The three composers featured on this album lived in a time when even the existence of Poland itself was unrecognizable, as symbolized by the 1772 "Treaty Concerning the Partition of Poland" between Russia, Prussia, and Austria. Unlike Chopin, who went into exile in Paris, they remained in Poland and worked hard to raise the local cultural level, but most of their works have been scattered and are seldom recalled even today. Conductor Jarosław Thiel recorded these works using instruments of the time, shedding new light on these works that have been buried in history. Naxos Japan
