The ultimate prestige cuvee Champagne, Cristal was first produced by Louis Roederer for Tsar Alexander II of Russia in 1876. Bottled in clear glass with a flat base and distinctive yellow cellophane wrapper to protect the wine from light, only the best selection from the family owned biodynamic vineyards are used in the final blend.

Aged for a minimum of 7 years in the cellars before release and only produced in the best years, Cristal is world renowned by experts as the most precise expression of Champagne and whilst can be enjoyed young will benefit from long term cellaring.

In 1876, Tsar Alexandre II requested that the Cuvée of Louis Roederer Champagne. Specially created in his honour should henceforth be presented in a crystal decanter thus, he gave birth to the idea of Cristal. Since then symbol of rarity, extreme exigence and supreme refinement.

The wine is aged for six years in the cellars and left for a minimum of eight months after disgorging to attain the perfect maturity. Cristal is a blend of Grand Crus from the Montagne de Reims, the Marne Valley and the Côte des Blancs.
