Sepultura

The most powerful tribal heaviness roaring out of South America! Sepultura, a Brazilian metal band born in 1984, has taken the world by storm with its thrashy and tribal heavy sound. The new lineup, with new drummer Gene Dolabella replacing Igor Cavalera, released the concept album "A-LEX" in 2009, which was inspired by "A Clockwork Orange". Sepultura is a metal act from Brazil that has reigned supreme in the heavy music scene with its electrifying sound and charismatic presence. Formed by brothers Max and Igor Cavalera, they have had a tremendous influence on subsequent thrash/new metal/groove metal acts as they continued to greedily pursue their own heaviness in the late 80s and 90s. Despite being an extreme heavy band, they have sold an astounding total of 20 million albums worldwide, making them a legendary act in the thrash world. After Max Cavalera left the band in 1996, Derrick Green was brought in as a new vocalist, and the band has continued to release albums on various labels and deliver their mighty heavy groove to the world. Last December, they released a box set "SEPULNATION - THE STUDIO ALBUMS 1998-2009," a compilation of studio albums released from 1998 to 2009, the second period of their career. The album "A-LEX", which was also included in the box set, is now being released as a stand-alone album. Like the box set, this album also features the 2021 remastered sound source. After the release of the previous album "Dante XXI," Igor Cavalera left the band (he later started Cavalera Conspiracy with Max Cavalera), and Jimmy Dolabella was brought in as the new drummer for the 11th album "A-LEX A-LEX" is their 11th album.The previous album was a concept album inspired by Dante's "Divine Comedy," and now the band has created a concept album inspired by the cult classic "A Clockwork Orange" in order to express the aggressive heaviness characteristic of Sepultura to a higher level.
