A stunning and sumptuous rare antique chromolithograph from 1882 (date appears at the top of the print), showing a bird's eye view of Cairo looking northeast. This is not a reproduction. It is the original print form the September 23, 1882 issue of The Graphic, a prominent British weekly illustrated newspaper with immense influence on the art world.

Size: approx. 23.5 inches x 15-7/8 inches (approx. 59.69 cm. x 40.32 cm). In excellent condition. Blank en verso.

The bird's eye view extends from Abukebir to the pyramids of Ghizeh and from Subt ed Dak to the Plain of Muggreh. Also shows major locations as well as camel and railway routes. Lovely illustrations of the pyramids and even a hot-air balloon above the desert!
