The Edelrid Tommy Caldwell Pro Dry DuoTec 9.6mm x 70M bicolor climbing rope offers an extremely high sheath proportion, making it an ideal partner for working routes or the rigors and punishment of big wall climbing.
DuoTec is a braiding process patented by Edelrid to manufacture bicolor ropes, wherein each half of the rope has a different design. The differently patterned halves are easy to distinguish. This easily identifiable middle marking is useful when rapelling, estimating how much rope you have left and coiling. The bicolor design means that each side of the rope has a different color. At the middle of the rope, the braiding machine automatically turns the marker ribbon over so that the different color shows to ensure permanent middle marking of the rope.
Edelrid's Pro Dry treatment is a finishing process wherein the core yarns are infused. Then, once braiding is completed, the finished rope (core and sheath) is infused again. In a final stage, the dry treatment is thermally fixed. The result is a rope that is durably water repellent and dirt resistant. Pro Dry ropes are particularly quick drying, absorb virtually no water and are resistant to freezing in cold temperatures.
We're not saying you're going to climb like Tommy Caldwell with this rope, but we're not not saying that either...
