Buddy Guy
Description:
Buddy Guy was born on July 30, 1936, in Louisiana, U.S.A. In 1960, he signed with the prestigious Chess label, where he left a string of great performances. He was also active in a duo with Junior Wells from the late 1960s, and continued to perform steadily in the 1970s, but in the 1980s his activities temporarily slowed down and he was out of the limelight. However, in 1991, he released "I Got the Blues," which won a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album. In 2005, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He has won seven Grammy Awards and released over 50 albums in a career spanning more than 50 years. He is one of the finest active blues guitarists still working at the forefront to this day. This is his first new album in four years and three months, since 2018's The Blues Is Alive and Well. This gorgeous album features guests such as Elvis Costello, James Taylor, Mavis Staples, and Bobby Rush. You can hear the performance of the smoldering silver player who turned 86 years old this year.
