Tony Banks' selections from Genesis' recordings for the BBC between 1970 and 1998. 53 songs on 5 CDs, many previously unreleased. Includes many previously unreleased recordings. Selected by original member Tony Banks and the band's longtime engineer and producer Nick Davis, the 53-song, 5-CD set will be available for purchase. (The 3LP set is available only as an import.) These collections are selected from Genesis live performances from 1970 to 1998, recorded by the BBC, and feature songs from all three Genesis vocalists, Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, and Ray Wilson. The album also includes a song by Michael Hann's Lions. The release comes with a 40-page booklet with liner notes by Michael Hann and includes "Home by the Sea," "Mama," "The Dutchs," "Carpet Crawlers," "No Sun of Mine," "Turn It On Again (Your TV Show)" and many other familiar songs are included.This comprehensive collection includes Genesis' very early performances on BBC's "Night Ride" and John Peel's show, two performances at the Nebworth Festival (in 1978 and 1992), a 1980 show at London's Lysium that was enthusiastically received, and a series of sold-out Wembley shows in 1987. The collection is comprehensive, including Genesis' triumphant return to Wembley in 1987, where the band played a series of sold-out shows. The collection closes with material from the 1998 NEC show. The collection also includes the early 1970 Paris Theater and "Night Ride" recordings, as well as a well-calculated version of "Watcher of Skies," performed as an encore at Wembley Empire Pool in 1975.
