TBC Big Road Race Revived! The race will be reissued on DVD with the cooperation of Tohoku Broadcasting System, Inc. and Sugo Co. Lawson, the first 500cc World Champion! His riding style has evolved with his style! On October 7, 1984, the 12th round of the World Grand Prix was held. Eddie Lawson, who had won the World Grand Prix title by defeating defending champion Freddie Spencer, returned to the SUGO circuit. His teammate was Wayne Rainey, who entered the WGP 250cc class for the first time this year with Team Roberts. This will be Rainey's first 500cc race. The leading Japanese riders were Tadahiko Taira, Hiroyuki Kawasaki, Shinichi Ueno, and Sadao Asami, all of whom made their GP debuts this year, as well as Masaru Mizutani on his RGB500 for the first time in four years. In qualifying, Tadahiko Taira, who won the All-Japan 500cc title for the second year in a row, set a lap record of 1 min 3.37 sec, bettering his own record of 1 min 3.76 sec, and took pole position. 38,000 spectators gathered for the final, where Lawson and Rainey both got off to good starts and Taira was slow to get going.In the end, Lawson achieved a perfect win, but his victory in serious mode was outstanding, as he shaved more than 2 seconds off Taira's winning time of 32:36.31 in each of the two heats of the 9th All-Japan race of that year.
